GXWaterfall version 2.0 is a font tool that allows its users to gauge the visual consistency of a GX font.Which means(depending on who you ask)...a) does a font at varying point sizes look like the font family it belongs to...b) does a font look right when it is used to render text...c) does a font look right when used with a similar but different font.GXWaterfall includes four test routines that allows a user to answer these questions.
The question of what ' looks right ' is best left to the people who will use GXWaterfall. These people will probably be professional font designers, typographers and typesetters. Users such as these with their extensive knowledge of fonts will benefit most from GXWaterfall. There is no reason, however, why the average Mac user can't try it for themselves, especially those interested in GX font technology who should be encouraged to find and use GXWaterfall.
You can obtain GXWaterfall and other GX font tools on CD-ROM from Apple at the usual software outlets.
